Description:
Cisco GLC-LH-SMD Gigabit SFP transceiver module, MMF/SMF Multimode & Single Mode
The Cisco GLC-LH-SMD Gigabit SFP transceiver module is designed to support both multimode and single-mode fibres. It is compatible with the IEEE 802.3z 1000BASE-LX standard and operates at a wavelength of 1300 nm.
- Compatibility: It is compatible with the IEEE 802.3z 1000BASE-LX standard, ensuring interoperability with various networking devices and equipment.
- Fibre Support: The module supports both multimode and single-mode fibres, making it versatile for different network environments.
- Reach: When used with single-mode fibre, the module can achieve link spans of up to 10 kilometres, enabling long-distance connections. On multimode fibres, it supports a maximum reach of 550 meters.
- Mode Conditioning: When connected to legacy multimode fibre, the transmitter should be coupled through a mode conditioning patch cable to ensure optimal performance.
- Wavelength: The module operates at a 1300-nanometre (nm) wavelength, which is commonly used for fibre optic transmission in the LX/LH range.
- Temperature Range: It features an extended operating temperature range, allowing it to operate reliably in varying environmental conditions.
The 1000BASE-LX/LH SFP, compatible with the IEEE 802.3z 1000BASE-LX standard, operates on standard single-mode fibre-optic link spans of up to 10 km and up to 550 m on any multimode fibre. When used over legacy multimode fibre type, the transmitter should be coupled through a mode conditioning patch cable. 1300-nm wavelength, extended operating temperature range and DOM support, dual LC/PC connector.
Note that all SFP ports have LC-type connectors, and the minimum cable distance for all SFPs listed (multimode and single-mode fiber) is 6.5 feet (2 m).
